This orphanage in Foumban has got the french acronym APED which stands for Association for the Enhancement of Children in Difficulties. It was co-founded by Jude Forsuh Tangue. At the moment, the orphanage has got 6 orphans. Most of them were street children and now they have the opportunity to have a roof over their heads.

As Mr Jude Tangue came to us for assistance, we couldn’t promise him anything since we’re working on a limited budget and have 100 young people in our curriculum whom we’re now playing the role as foster parents.  Mr Tangue pleaded for beds and mattresses for the kids. He alluded that these items were lacking. He also interjected that school fees, books and proper uniforms were lacking for some of the kids.

With this information in mind, we went on a mission tour if we could find a sponsor who could partially cover these needs. In a twist of fate, we came across Mrs Hildegard Schur who gave us a tied donation of 500€ to help cover the demands of the orphanage. This was a gesture of goodwill and we were caught off guard for such a benevolent action. With the money, a bunk bed was made, 6 mattresses were bought and the school needs for three of the occupants will be taken care off for the academic year 2009/10. We use this opportunity to abundantly thank Mrs Hildegard Schur for this generous donation. We’re touched and the children of this orphanage thank her profusely.

We’re still looking for sponsors or donors who can help us in helping these children so that the aid is sustainable till these children reach adulthood and can earn a living for themselves.
